Publisher Description
Get the really simple app that reads text to you. Just paste (or drop) (or share) text into this app and it’ll start talking. It has a few settings (like speech speed and voice) and a few controls (like play/pause/rewind) and that’s it. Is it amazing? No. Is it pretty good? Maybe. Is it free? Yes.
Version History Revamped and updated for modern times. Are there new features? Barely. Is it still a competent app? Yes. 2.0.0 Jan 19 Minor clean up of the UI. Improved pointer support for iPad. 1.89 07/10/2020 Updated the instructions around adding new voices so that it's accurate for iOS 13. Yep. That's all. Pretty lame, Milhouse. 1.86 10/06/2019 Updated the app for iOS 13 compatibility. Now includes light and dark mode support when using iOS 13. 1.85 09/14/2019 Updated for iOS 12. Fixed a bug with the share extension. Now the app continues speaking from where you left off, even if you haven't launched the app in a while. And you can start speaking anywhere in the text by long pressing a word. And I probably added some other unremarkable features... but who can remember at this point? Sorry. 1.5 09/15/2018 Added a setting to show how much time remains when playing text. It's a little crude, it's not perfectly accurate, but it's free! Woohoo!!! Look on the settings page for details—because it is turned off by default. 1.4 06/22/2018 Added seek buttons to all size configurations. Fixed a bug with audio ducking. Made the app 4.5% less cruddy. 1.3 01/04/2018 Added seek forward and seek backward in the control panel and for headphone controls. Added seek buttons and keyboard shortcuts for iPad version. Fixed an embarrassing highlight text bug that is too embarrassing to even discuss... Let's never speak of it again. Thanks! Sorry! 1.2 12/06/2017 Added some new features due to UNPOPULAR demand! Optimized for iPhone X. Play/pause controls work better from control panel and lock screen. More help info on the help screen. And some other dumb stuff... 1.1 11/20/2017 1.0 09/19/2017
